Banksy confirms new statue in London
Street artist Banksy confirmed on April 30, 2026, that a new statue in central London is his work. The statue shows a man who is walking off a base, and a large flag covers his face.
Banksy shared a short video on Instagram. It shows how the statue was put there at night. The work appeared in the early hours of April 29, 2026. It stands in Waterloo Place, near Buckingham Palace.
Before this, many people came to see the statue. They thought it was by Banksy because his name was written on it. The statue is close to other statues of King Edward VII and Florence Nightingale.
Banksy has never shared his real identity. He is part of a group of artists who secretly post art in public to express their ideas.
