How food and drink can help with jet lag
Jet lag can make travel hard. It happens when your body clock does not match the time in a new place. After a long flight, you may feel tired, get headaches, or have stomach problems.
Health experts say that food and drink can help your body clock adjust to the new time. Before your trip, gradually change your meal times to match the local time. After you arrive, eat when local people do. Try to have a good breakfast in the morning. Also, you should not eat too much in the first few days. Big meals can hurt your stomach.
It is important to avoid drinking alcohol too because it is bad for sleep. Caffeine in the morning is fine, but not late in the day. Alcohol and caffeine can also take water out of your body. This makes you feel more tired. So drink a lot of water before, during, and after your flight.
