New Lucas museum opens with “Star Wars” and famous art
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opened in Los Angeles on September 22, 2026. George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, founded it together. Lucas created the "Star Wars" movie series.
Many people love "Star Wars." Fans can see special items here. A big yellow spaceship from the 1999 movie "The Phantom Menace" hangs in the lobby. The first show is "Star Wars in Motion." It has the landspeeder of Luke Skywalker, a hero in the story. Visitors can also see speeder bikes from the 1983 movie "Return of the Jedi."
But "Star Wars" is only 7% of the museum. The building is very big. Most art belongs to Lucas or Hobson. Lucas built this place to show his large collection. There are comic pictures and works by famous artists. The museum also has rooms with anime and manga. A children's area includes a painting of Pikachu.
