Malaysia opens a new center just for durian
Durian is a fruit with a powerful smell. Some people love it, but others hate it. Its flesh is rich and creamy. Each kind of durian has a different taste. Some are sweet, others are a little bitter, and a few even taste like peanut butter.
Malaysia grows many kinds of durian, and now it wants more people to try them. In Kuala Lumpur, the country's capital, there is a new two-story center only for this fruit. It opened in the summer of 2026, and it cost almost $2 million to build.
At the center, visitors can walk through a replica of a durian farm and learn about the fruit. They can also watch a fun show and eat food made from it, like egg tarts. The center is open every day, and its shop sells durian from morning until midnight.
