Wildlife hospital near Paris keeps rescued animals wild
A wildlife hospital in Maisons-Alfort, near Paris, helps injured, sick, and young wild animals. The hospital helped more than 10,400 wild animals in the past year.
Recently, a baby fox was found alone in a garden with no mother nearby. She was about 2 weeks old and too young to live by herself. Workers gave her special milk and watched her day and night.
At the hospital, workers do not hold the animals or talk to them because they want the animals to stay wild. Once healed, she will not go straight back to nature. First, she will live with other foxes in a large outdoor cage. Slowly, the workers will give her less food and more freedom until she is ready to live in the wild again.
Many of the animals at the hospital got hurt because of car accidents or machines that people use in their gardens or farms. The hospital gets money from donations and relies on volunteers to help take care of the animals.
