Hot air balloon makes emergency landing in California backyard

A balloon landed in a Southern California backyard, a balloon with 13 people.

Hunter Perrin said he had no idea that he had visitors until a neighbor told him. "I was watching TV and my wife was doing yoga," Perrin told The Associated Press. "There was a man standing in front of my door saying, 'They just landed.' What? I was very confused." His wife said, "It was unbelievable, like something out of a Disney fairy tale."

One passenger, Brianna Avalos, was on the ride with her husband for their 10th wedding anniversary. She said the pilot told the passengers that he needed to make an emergency landing because the balloon was low on fuel and the wind changed.

After the passengers got out safely, the pilot flew up again and landed the balloon on a street. Denni Barrett, the owner of Magical Adventure, a company that offers balloon rides, said the pilot made a good decision.
