Brothers catch a tiger shark off Massachusetts
Nate and Nelson Rouette are brothers who love fishing. They live in Massachusetts, a state in the United States. One night in late July 2026, they went fishing at a beach. The brothers hoped to catch a shark, and they did. But the shark was a big surprise. It was a young tiger shark, about 1.5 meters long.
Tiger sharks usually live in warm waters in the south, like the Caribbean Sea. They are rare in the cold water near Massachusetts. Scientists think warmer seas may be one reason tiger sharks are coming north.
The brothers were very happy and surprised. Nate saw the lines on its body and knew it was a tiger shark. Adult tiger sharks can grow to more than 4.6 meters long. Nate and Nelson released the shark, and they will not forget that night.
