The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is light and playful
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie was released in the United States and other countries on April 1, 2026, and will be released in Japan on 24. In this movie, Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toad (called Kinopio in Japan) leave the Mushroom Kingdom and go into space. The film brings in Princess Rosalina, a space princess, and the Lumas, her small star children.
The review says the movie has some fun surprises. One is Star Fox, another Nintendo character. Another is Bowser (called Koopa in Japan) and Bowser Jr. as painters. Bowser is still tiny in Peach’s castle. Bowser Jr. wants to take over the galaxy and win his father’s love.
The writer says the film is light and playful. In the film, Lumas and the Toads love the stories of the plumber brothers. One Toad wears Mario pajamas and has a Mario toy.
